Update : RRB Thiruvananthapuram had on the night to November 17 uploaded the result of RRB NTPC exam, however, the same was removed in the morning of November 18. The website of the region now bears a notice, “Please note that a draft of the result data was temporarily uploaded in this website only to test the updated website. Final result will be uploaded shortly.” As per the result updated on RB TVM website, a total of 7,807 candidates were announced to have qualified for Stage 2 exam.

The declaration of RRB NTPC 2016 results has officially begun as RRB Thiruvananthapuram region published the stage 1 exam result yesterday evening and also notified the tentative schedule of stage 2. The rest of RRBs will follow the suit and by all means, results of all regions are expected to be out before November ends. This is your live thread for RRB NTPC result 2016 latest news and updates.

The RRB NTPC results have been published in the form of a merit list. The candidates bearing roll numbers (14 digits) arranged in ascending order (not in order of merit) horizontally have been provisionally shortlisted to appear in common 2nd Stage examination which also will be computer based like stage 1. The candidates have been shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the 1st stage exam.

RRB had conducted Non-Technical Post Graduate (NTPC) online examinations from March 28 to May 3 earlier this year. Against CEN-03/2015, a record 92 lakh applications were received by Railway Recruitment Board and 56 candidates had actually appeared, 76 shifts and setting up of 1192 exam centres are all it took to make RRB NTPC 2016 the World’s biggest online examination. RRB even sent a proposal to include NTPC exam in Guinness World Records Book.

So far, only RRB Thiruvananthapuram has announced the results. Major boards like RRB Allahabad, RRB Mumbai, RRB Kolkata, RRB Ajmer among 21 RRBs. Candidates can check their results of Thiruvananthapuram region here. For RRB Thiruvananthapuram region, a total of 7,807 candidates have been selected to appear for stage 2 exam.

The same board has also notified that the stage 2 examinations would be held on December 19th, 20th and 21st on 3 shifts each day in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. The first shift will start from 7:30 am, second from 11 am and 3rd shift from 2:30 pm on the given dates. This schedule is tentative and final schedule will be confirmed by the board in given time. Admit cards for stage 2 exam will be issued two weeks prior to the exam.

Initially there was only one exam to be held, however, later the RRB made the online exams held over March-May stage 1 and introduced stage 2 exam. Stage 1 is only of qualifying nature only and around 3 lakh candidates will make it to stage 2. The final selection of candidates will be based on merit position obtained in the 2nd stage exam and/or result of Aptitude Test/Typing Skill Test wherever applicable. Normalisation of marks would be done as per notified criteria.

The 2nd stage computer based test will likely have questions from topics of General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning. The duration of stage 2 exam will be 90 minutes and 120 multiple choice objective type questions will be asked. The question paper will be in the regional language opted by candidates and also in English.

All RRBs had released the preliminary answer keys, response sheet and objection tracker facility earlier and the final answer keys, question paper and candidate’s response will be provided after the entire process of recruitment has finished.
