The result of RRB NTPC 2016 examinations is expected to be announced in the first week of December. Well, many candidates may find this update amusing and why not? There have been such updates from time to time, by several media groups and this has only led to increasing frustration for over 56 lakh candidates who had taken the exam held from March to May. And the latest addition in the furore is the the declaration and withdrawal of results by RRB Thiruvananthapuram which has left candidates really bemused.
The notification for filling 18,252 vacancies under Non-Technical Popular Categories (Graduate) was issued in December last year. It was notified that the selection to these posts will be done through single stage computer based test (aptitude test and skill test, wherever necessary). As such large volume of vacancies in Indian Railways was announced after a long gap, over 92 lakh applications were submitted. Out of them, around 56 lakh candidates appeared for the test, making it eligible to ink its name in Guinness Book of World Records. But, this should not be the reason to include the exam in a prestigious record, maybe, the delay in announcing the results of an online exam should be (majority candidates will agree with me on this).
Let’s take a lookback over the proceedings associated with the exam : The application submission process ended in January and the online test was conducted in a long schedule from March 28 to May 3 across the country. Till now, everything was going according to the schedule and everyone was happy, very much happy. It was only after the conclusion of exam that the candidates started feeling impatient and when the release of answer keys of an online exam takes around 3 months, it is quite obvious. The facility of ‘Objection Tracker’, as RRBs like to call it, was opened from August 12 to 21 so that the candidates may submit their objections against the released answer keys (this comes as a necessary step for maintaining transparency in the exam process).
RRB NTPC Result : Come the evening of November 17 and one of the RRBs – RRB Thiruvananthapuram updated the result in the form of merit list, comprising of the names of qualified candidates. While the news was enough to break the internet 😉 the very same result was withdrawn by the next morning. Reason being cited that the uploading of result was done only to test the website. The RRB further said that the final results are under process and will be declared anytime soon and advised the candidates to keep checking the official website on a regular basis.
What about Paper 2 (Stage 2 exam) : As announced by the Boards, there will be a second stage computer based exam and around 2.75 candidates will make their way to the exam centres for second stage test. The dates for 2nd stage test were announced as December 19, 20 & 21, but it would not be possible for the RRBs to conduct the exam in these dates. Once the results are out, the candidates will be given at least 1 month duration before they take the 2nd test.
Updates from RRBs
As per our recent conversation with RRB Ajmer, the official said that the results will be uploaded within a week on the official website.
In it’s statement released after that little stunt with withdrawal of results, RRB Thiruvananthapuram has said that it will too declare RRB NTPC result 2016 within next 4-5 days. While the merit list will remain the same that was published earlier, what changed will be down, it remains to be seen.
More of the RRBs i.e., RRB Mumbai and few others are also saying the same thing to start publishing results in a week. We’ll keep updating here in case any good news comes up.
