For over 2.73 lakh candidates provisionally shortlisted for 2nd Stage test, the exam dates have been announced by the Railway Recruitment Boards. RRB NTPC 2nd stage test will be conducted as an online test, same like stage 1 exam, but it will be completed in 3 days. The test starts on January 17 and will conclude on 19th.
Over 56 lakh candidates have taken the Stage 1 test held from March 28 to May 3 and as the results were announced on December 7, it was also announced that the Stage 2 test will be held in January or February, though no exact date was announced. RRB updated the final schedule for NTPC Stage 2 test today which applies for all 21 Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).
Across all 21 RRBs, a total of 2,73,250 candidates has been shortlisted for the 2nd Stage test. The test will be taken as a Computer-based Test across 43 cities. The admit card will be released by respective RRBs on their official web portals two weeks prior to the exam date. The candidates will have to access the respective RRB website for which they had applied in order to download RRB NTPC admit card. The admit card (e-call letter) will indicate the date, shift, reporting time, test centre & city. RRBs will also intimate the candidates through SMS and e-mail about the release of e-call letters.
RRBs will administer NTPC 2nd stage test in three shifts each day, except RRB Bangalore, which would hold the exam in 2 shifts on 19th January. The reporting time for three shifts has been decided as 7.30 am, 11.00 am and 2.30 pm. The test duration will remain 90 minutes as earlier announced and it will consist of 120 multiple choice questions. The question paper will cover General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning.
The test is being conducted to fill around 18,252 vacancies under Non-Popular Technical Categories which includes posts such as Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice, Enquiry cum Reservation Clerk, Goods Guard, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Assistant Station Master, Traffic Assistant and Senior Time Keeper. The placement of candidates in panels and/or shortlisting for appearing in Aptitude Test/ Typing Skill Test (wherever applicable), will be only on the basis of marks obtained in 2nd Stage CBT, the official notification reads.
