Indian Railways

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB’s) had notified a large pool of vacancies under Non-Technical Popular Category in December last year. For over 18 thousand vacancies, the Board received more than 9.2 million applications. The online test saw the participation of over 5.6 million candidates who have been currently waiting for their result or at least an official update on the same. While giving out a major update, RRD Ajmer Chairman RK Jain told Bhaskar that the results of first stage test would be positively announced in the month of November.

Official Updates : So far, Railway Recruitment Board, Allahabad has come up with four official updates, out of them three were rolled out in August, followed by one in September. In its first notice released on August 10, the Board announced that the facility of objection tracker would be available from August 12 so as to maintain transparency in the world’s biggest online exam. Nothing major was included in the second update provided on August 22 as the Board said the results are under process.

In the third notice released on August 31, the Board said that the final answer keys based on the objections received till August 21 would be released in September/October and a second stage online test (2nd stage CBT) would be conducted. It was also decided that the first stage online test would now serve as a screening test and the candidates equal to 15 times of vacancies would be invited to appear for 2nd stage online test. In the latest update that was notified on September 12, the RRB said the result of 1st stage online examination is under preparation and 2nd stage test is expected to be held in November. The Board maintained that the exact date of 2nd stage online test would be notified to the successful candidates in time.

Just how big the recruitment is:

The Railway Department’s Director of Information and Public Relations Ved Prakash had said earlier that “This recruitment is a very large-scale operation for us and we have conducted exams in 76 shifts over the weekends of March to May.” The board had set up 1192 centres and also linked them to Google Maps.  The Ministry of Railway’s official Twitter handle had also notified of it.

It is just to recall that the 1st stage online test was conducted between March 28 to May 3. Many media portals/groups have been making speculations about the RRB NTPC results declaration and the RRBs have quite supported the speculations by not giving any concrete update on the same. While any other thing still remain under the curtain, it seems that the NTPC stage 1 exam results would now be announced in November, while the 2nd stage test would be conducted in January. It is also required to mention here that the candidates would also have to appear for another test in the form of Aptitude test/typing skill test after the 2nd stage test. The final selection would be based on the merit position obtained in 2nd stage CBT and typing test/aptitude test.

With continuous prolonged dely in the RRB NTPC results declaration date, one can estimate that the whole process would finish only by the mid of next year. RRBs have sent the NTPC online exam for inclusion into Guinness Book of World Record in terms of the number of candidates appeared for the test. On one hand, when the RRBs decided to execute NTPC recruitment process through online exam, it was speculated that the selection process would wind up in limited time frame and here we are, more than 5 months have passed and the results of first stage test are still under preparation. As one aspirant told ExamsWatch.com, RRB NTPC exam should be included in Guinness Book, not for the number of candidates, but for the time the authority is taking for declaring the result of an online test.

  • yes RRB has made a world record of its type and surely should be proud of its delays and lethergy. it deserves for noble prize not only gunnies book. becoz no other authority can take 6 months to declare an online result. proud on railways and its meritorious board…..

  • Railway is looking forward to gaining a place in guinness record for conducting a large scale online exam about 92 lakh condidates & everyone is happy for that. But i dont think it is condition of happiness as the darker side of this is that our country has a burden of 92 lakh unemployed youth & much more than that.So this the worst side of this bulk crowd .

  • It is not a pride. It is a shame that for a few thousand vacancy 92 lacks applicants are strugling. It shows the hight of unemployement.

  • This is the Digital India shamful. RRB conducted online examination and the result so late. Wheter Bank’s online examination canduct and result decleared in within 15 to 20 days.
Ye hai Pagla Modi ka kmaal. Ye Hmare Pagal Modi PM India ko Digital India nahe balki Disable India bnakar rahega..
