RBI grade B officer exam 2017 over, result within a week

RBI GRADE B EXAMThe preliminary (Phase 1) examination for the recruitment of Grade-B Officers in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been conducted today. RBI Grade B prelims 2017 was conducted as an online exam in two shifts today, of which the candidates were allotted a single shift. The notification for filling 161 Grade-B Officers vacancies was rolled out in May and the selection process includes Phase 1 exam, Phase 2 exam and interview.

RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam has been conducted today for vacancies under three departments. The vacancies under DR-General batch are 145, while the remaining vacancies are distributed as 12 under Department of Economy & Policy Research (DEPR) and 4 under Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM). The online applications for the recruitment were submitted from May 3 to 23, while the admit cards for prelims exam were issued on June 2.

RBI Grade B exam (prelims) for General batch comprised of 200 multiple choice questions, distributed among four sections as: General Awareness (80 questions), Reasoning (60 questions), English Language (30 questions) and Quantitative Aptitude (30 questions). The candidates had to attempt all the questions within 2 hours time. Each question carried 1 mark, hence the maximum marks will be 200. For each wrong answer, 1/4 marks allotted to the question will be deducted from the total score. Prelims exam for Grade B Officer posts under DEPR and DSIM carried 100 marks.

The candidates are required to score minimum qualifying marks in each section as well as in aggregate in order to be considered for further selection process. Such candidates will be placed in a merit list and a limited number of them will be called for Phase 2 exam. The shortlisting of candidates for Phase 2 online exam will be as per the merit derived on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the Phase 1 exam.

RBI will publish a list containing roll number of candidates shortlisted for Phase 2 exam. RBI Grade B prelims result will be tentatively announced within a week from now, however, if we consider the last year exam trend, RBI might announce the results as early as by Wednesday. Phase 2 exam is scheduled to be held on 7th July and it comprises of three papers, each carrying 100 marks.
