In a fresh notification released by the Reserve Bank of India on Friday, the recruitment process of Assistant posts has been revised. From now on, the candidates will have to go through an all new procedure for selection as an Assistant in the country’s central banking institution. The candidates would have to appear for two-tier examination process consisting of a preliminary exam and main exam, which would be followed by an interview session.

From this year, there would be a preliminary examination for all applicants which would consist of 100 questions, this would be of 1-hour duration. The preliminary exam would act as a screening test and the candidates scoring qualifying marks in the exam would be shortlisted for the main examination as per the requirement of the Bank. The shortlisted candidates would then have to appear for the main exam of 200 marks (2 hours duration).
The preliminary exam would consist of three tests; English Language (30 questions), Numerical Ability (35 questions) and Reasoning Ability (35 questions). The main exam would have five tests; Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge test. All the sections in the main exam would carry 40 questions.
The candidates finally shortlisted from the main examination would be called for the interview and the final selection would be on the basis of candidate’s performance in the main exam and interview taken together in order of merit.
