There has always been a debate whether reservation should be given priority or not. Reservation is granted to some specified group of people in order to make them stand equal in society. Reservation in the Constitution Part XVI having articles 320-342 deals with the power and facilities related to reservation of seats.
Recently a petition has been filled by Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) before Rajasthan High Court asking not to stop migration of reserved candidates to general category. It was found that in many cases where a candidate from reserved category obtain higher scores than general category candidate. This in turn, automatically shifts the candidate from reserved category to general category, making it difficult for a general category candidate to come up. On the other hand reserved category candidates finds themselves in good position.
This method of scoring has aroused agitation among general category candidates who thinks reservation system should be withdrawn completely. General category candidates are very much upset due to this system where discrimination happens with them and this process created a sense of hatred among general and reserved category candidates. Reservation was included in the Constitution in order to provide equal opportunities to people belonging to backward classes that would help them to the mainstream.

If Government can take initiative to provide equality in education to the peoples of villages and those who are living in tribes, there might be a chance of solving problems of reservation. Providing them with good society and good standard of living might help them to take one step towards their future. Moreover, if reservation is to be provided then it should be on basis of financial conditions rather than by caste or creed.
Reserved category candidates will not be allowed to move to general category list as orders passed by single bench of Rajasthan High Court. The order passed by single bench was challenged by RPSC but division bench also denied the petition. Therefore, it maintains the order passed by single bench and further instructed RPSC to act strictly according to the laws as explained by Supreme Court.
