In a hasty move, Rajasthan government has put the Gram Panchayat Sahayak recruitment on hold with immediate effect. The notification for recruiting as many as 27,635 panchayat Sahayaks was issued by the Panchayati Raj department on November 8. But on November 23 (Wednesday), the notice to put the postpone the recruitment process was published by the Panchayati Raj department.
As per the reports, on Wednesday, Rajasthan Sarpanch Sangh had submitted a memorandum at district headquarters for stopping the recruitment. Feeling the heat of state-level agitation, the government issued the notice to stop the recruitment. The notice, issued on the official website of the department has been undersigned by Additional Commission & Joint Secretary Rajender S. Makker. However, the notice doesn’t mention the exact reason of stopping the recruitment and just mentions that the recruitment stands postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.
The minimum qualification required for being appointed as a Panchayat Sahayak is Class 12th and considering the large pool of vacancies, hundreds of thousand aspirants had started applying for the same. The monthly stipend for the post has been fixed by the department as Rs. 6000. The applications were to be submitted till 10.30 am on November 28 and even the selection was to be done on the Gram Sabha to be held on same day.
As of now, the recruitment process stands postponed and this has enraged the unemployed youth across the state.
