Rajasthan Public service Commission (RPSC) announced the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive (Main) examination results 2012 on Friday, 17 July 2015. Radhika Devi, teacher from Kendriya Vidyalaya of Jaipur topped the merit list.
Second rank went to Monika Balara of Hanumangarh. For 1211 posts, written examinations were held after which the interviews went for seven long months. Radhika Devi, aged 29 of Deedwana in Nagaur district, got 900 marks to be placed at the top of the merit list. Monika Balara, aged 27 of Hanumangarh and Radhika were the only women candidates in the top ten list.
Radhika Devi, a Kendriya Vidyalaya school teacher from 2008, failed in her first attempt to clear the Mains written exam. Her father is a DEO in Nagaur. Two sisters from Jaisalmer, Anjana Meghwal aged 36 and her sibling Prem Dhande aged 31 also passed the RAS exam.
Anjana Meghwal, sworn in as Zila Parishad, choose politics and not administrative future. While campaigning for panchayati elections, she had given assurance that she would be in politics, when there were some doubts regarding her future.
Anjana’s younger sister Prem Dhande, who cleared the exam, was also a member of Zila Parishad would quit politics now. Prem Dhande after completing her B.Tech from Jodhpur Engineering College, did MBA from ICFAI National College, Jodhpur. Anjana, housewife for 15 years, started her preparations for RAS in 2011 after her husband, an engineer in the municipal council, died.
Her two teen aged sons Mohit and Ankit supported her in studies and she cleared the examination in flying colors. Her father, retired chief engineer of Public Health and Engineering Department, Rajasthan competed in 2013 Assembly elections as congress candidate from city of Jaisalmer.
On February 7, Anjana sworn in as Zila Pramukh, Jaisalmer and on February 9th was interviewed by the panel at RPSC in Ajmer. The Rajasthan State Subordinate Services Combined Competitive exams formed the basis of selection to Rajasthan Administrative Services, RAS and Rajasthan Police Services, RPS plus other civil services. The interviews began in the month of January 2015 and were conducted till Thursday 16th 2015. There are 360 posts instate services that includes 75 in RAS and 1211 in subordinate services.
