Vice President of Congress Rahul Gandhi has decided to strengthen the efforts made by his party. For past few weeks, he was quite busy campaigning for his party across all poll-bound states. Taking ahead his plans to revive the party’s strength, Rahul Gandhi has planned a two day visit to Himachal Pradesh. The visit might be schedule for May 16-17, however, the official announcement is yet to be made. Ruling government in the hilly state Himachal Pradesh is of Congress, but the state has witnessed political rebellion, especially from opposition BJP.
Rahul’s visit to Himachal Pradesh could be considered a saviour for Congress government in the state. Congress leaders in HP have been waiting for senior leaders support for long time and Rahul’s visit to the state has been postponed many times. Earlier in 2012, when the elections were held in Himachal, Rahul was not able to take out time to visit the state. Now as the fresh assembly elections are approaching in 2017, Rahul Gandhi is all set to get rid of his image that many congress leaders think that he is never accessible.
According to the party sources, Rahul Gandhi would pay a visit to Himachal Pradesh and meet senior leaders in the state. Himachal Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has been the prime target of opposition BJP and Singh has been facing severe opposition from BJP. Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Himachal would also enable him to connect with the junior leaders of party and may turn into a big motivation for them.
