Punjab PMET Result 2016 delayed once again, Exclusive Report

Update 4.00 PM, June 16, 2016: It seems that students who have taken Punjab PMET 2016 conducted by BFUHS will have to wait for few more days. As we spoke to University officials today on June 16, we got confirmation that PMET result is not going to be annoucned today. Officials denied giving any specific reasons over delay in result declaration. Students will be informed though SMS by University once the results are made available online.

Update, 9.20 am, June 16, 2016: Punjab PMET result 2016 shall be published online today on June 16. The results will be available at University’s official site bfuhs.ac.in. As of now, the results have not been declared, we will provide next update as soon as we get an official word on it.

Update, 5:20 pm, June 15, 2016: Talking to University officials, it’s been found that result of Punjab PMET 2016 has been delayed by one day and will now be released tomorrow on June 16. The delay in result is caused due to large number of objections received by University against answer sheets.

PMET result 2016: Baba Farid University of Health Science is going to announce Punjab PMET result today on 15 June. The result of PMET 2016 will be published on bfuhs.ac.in for aspirants.

In a first, Punjab medical entrance test (PMET)-2016 was conducted in online mode for admissions on 1200 seats into MBBS and BDS courses in 22 medical and dental colleges affiliated under Baba Farid University, Faridkot.

Overall, 15 percent of the total seats are to be filled through NEET under All India quota of Central government. The regulations of reservations is also to be followed for admission to government as well as private colleges.

pmet result 2016PMET (Punjab PMT) was held on 11 June at 33 test venues set up across 15 places in the state. As said by Anil Joshi, medical education minister of Punjab, a total of 14,689 candidates wrote the test this year out of around 16,000 who had registered. The minister expressed his satisfaction over the successful conduct of the test and also congratulated Dr. Raj Bahadur, the VC of BFUHS and all other associated with the conduct of the test.

It is also reported that in the first shift (10 am to 1 pm), nearly 560 candidates remained absent. Likewise absent was recorded in the second shift too, held between 2 pm to 5 pm.

The test was conducted in two shifts and in total, 7292 candidates wrote the test in first shift whereas 7397 candidates appeared in the second shift on June 11. The medical entrance was earlier scheduled to be held on 15 May but was delayed amid the SC’s ruling about National eligibility cum entrance test. However, following the Union government’s ordinance on NEET, Punjab govt decided to go ahead with its own entrance this year and thus, revising the complete schedule.

On the day after the PMET-2016 was held, the University availed the answer keys for appeared candidates and also provided the option for candidates to submit challenges.

Dr. D S Sidhu, registrar of BFUHS had said that “the result of PMET 2016 will be declared on 15 June after addressing the objections raised by students for answer sheets.”

On a whole, the paper carried 800 marks with 200 marks assigned for each section of Physics, Chemistry, and 400 marks for Biology (200 marks for Botany & 200 marks for Zoology). There is no negative marking provisioned for the marking scheme of the test.

The ranks will be provided to candidates on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by them in the online entrance test.

Punjab PMET result 2016 will contain the score/marks secured by the candidates in the test and rank list is prepared category wise following reservation/quota rules and marks of candidates.

To check results, aspirants need to go to official website. They will also be required to enter their roll number and date birth to access the scorecard. It must be noted that scorecard/ rank cards will not be dispatched to any candidate and they’re gonna have to download it from official site only. The printed copy of marks/rank will be considered valid for counselling and admission process.

The notification for counselling schedule will be released by Baba Farid University after the publication of result today on 15 June. The candidates included in the merit list will have to attend the documents verification process and counselling as per the specified schedule.
