PSTET answer key 2016 and result declaration: report

The answer key for PSTET 2016 that was held on 25 September 2016 will be released for paper 2 and paper 1 by the state education council. Over one lakh aspirants took PSTET yesterday. Last time the test was held, the council had released the answer keys within 3 days and also declared the results under two weeks, the same is expected here.

September 28: The council has not released the answer keys and is expected within 1-2 days and no official notice has been put up online about the dates.

PSTET 2016 has been conducted on Sunday, September 25, 2016. The candidates who have taken the exam can check PSTET answer key of paper 1 and paper 2 at the official website once it is out. The answer key by coaching centres may not be out for PSTET, so candidates have to wait out for the official ones.

Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test, PSTET was organised today across the State for which around 2 lakh candidates had registered. The Punjab TET exam has been coordinated by the Punjab State Council of Educational Research & Training and the Council would further release the PSTET answer key to invite objections from the candidates.

The TET exam is broadly divided into two papers; Paper 1 for Classes I to V and Paper 2 for Classes VI to VIII. Over 1 lakh candidates appear for PSTET Paper 2 every year while around 30-40 thousand take Paper 1. With many vacancies reported in the state government schools, the Council received applications from around 2 lakh aspirants collectively this year.

Both the papers of the TET exam consist of 150 questions. The break-up of section-wise questions is here :

Paper I

(i) Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 questions
(ii) Language I – 30 questions
(iii) Language II – 30 questions
(iv) Mathematics – 30 questions
(v) Environmental Studies – 30 questions

Paper II

(i) Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 questions
(ii) Language I – 30 questions
(iii) Language II – 30 questions
(iv) (a) For Mathematics and Science Teacher – Mathematics and Science – 60 questions
(b) For Social Studies/Social Science – Social Science – 60 questions
(c) For any other teacher – either (a) or (b)

Considering the past practices adopted by the State Education department, it can be assumed that the PSTET answer key may be released today or tomorrow while the results are expected to be announced in the first week of October. TET examination serves as a qualifying examination for the appointment of teachers in the government schools and a candidate needs to score minimum 60 percent marks (90 marks) to qualify the test.
