Prof Khurshid Andrabi Emphasizes On Moral Education For Students

Prof Khurshid Andrabi, who is the Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, was invited as the chief guest on the occasion of Annual Day Celebrations of Qamaria Model School, Srinagar. While addressing the gathering present, Prof Khurshid Iqbal in his speech highlighted “the role of youth in the preservation of cultural ethos of Kashmir and said that the students should be enlightened with the moral education side by side with the contemporary education.”

Other dignitaries present at the gathering were Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mr Showkat Aijaz Bhat and Director Iqbal Institute, University of Kashmir, Prof Bashir Ahmad Nehvi attended the function as Guests of honour. Former Chief Secretary and Chairman QMHSEI, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool presided over the function. The members of Management Committee Qamaria Muslim Wakaf Trust, staff and students of the institution were also present. Besides this, the function was attended by eminent citizens, heads of cluster educational institutes and parents of the students.

Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal while speaking about the occasion said, that the students play a pivotal role in the development of the nation and its activities. He asked the students to work hard in their studies and exhibit their talent at national and international level competitions thereby bringing laurels to their school, state and the nation as a whole.

While Sheikh Ghulam Rasool in his presidential address laid emphasis over the achievement of the institute in the past academic sessions and highlighted that the students should be inculcated with moral values.

On the occasion of Annual Day Celebrations, even the 9th edition of school Magazine ‘Alqamer” was also released. During the function, the students of the school presented amazing and vibrant programmes which were highly applauded and appreciated by those present.

Even in the last, the felicitation ceremony also took place. The best student award was given to Miss Uzma Ashraf who is a Class 12 students and Best Teacher Award was given to Arifath who is a senior teacher of the institution.
