PRMO 2017 results out today, Check Pre RMO results here

The result of Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad or PRMO 2017 is expected to be declared today, i.e. on September 15. PRMO 2017 was conducted by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) on August 20. This year, Pre RMO was conducted by IAPT in association with National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM). Homi Bhabha Center for Science and Education will prepare and submit the list of candidates declared qualified as per PRMO 2017 results.

Once the Pre RMO results are declared, each Regional Coordinator will conduct the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) in October for shortlisted students. Pre-RMO consisted of 30 questions and only a limited number of students will be declared qualified to appear for RMO. As per the official agenda outlined by the HBCSE, all the 16 regional co-coordinators will get the list of students who will be eligible to sit for RMO by September 15, 2017. Earlier, the official answer keys of PRMO 2017 were also released at IAPT website.

Each regional co-coordinator will then conduct the RMO exam in the respective region on October 08, 2017 between 1.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. The results of RMO for all the regions are to be declared centrally by HBCSE on or before December 07, 2017. The INMO will be held on the third Sunday of January (January 21, 2018) from 12.00 noon to 4.00 p.m. Only those students who are selected in RMO 2017 and those who have received an INMO certificate of merit in 2017 are eligible to appear for the INMO, provided they are in class XI or below. The INMO results will be declared on or before February 28, 2018.

The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India, which leads to participation of Indian students in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.

To take the International Olympiad, the student has to go through six stages:

Stage 1: Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad. This exam is held at a school near you. Questions with 1 or 2 digit numbers are selected as answers.
Stage 2: Regional Mathematical Olympiad. This exam is held at a small number of centers in the region. Descriptive questions are asked.
Stage 3: Indian National Mathematical Olympiad. This exam is held at 30 centers across India. Descriptive questions are asked.
Stage 4: IMO Training Camp. HBCSE lecture and problem solving sessions are being held.
Stage 5: Pre-Departure Camp. HBCSE lecture and problem solving sessions are being held.
Stage 6: International Olympiad. International venue. Problem solving competition.
