On the occasion of Vasant Panchami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a conference of all the principals of schools run by Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharati Shiksha Sansthan. He asked the RSS-linked schools to use the technology in order to enhance the quality of students.
Prime Minister told all principals that Shiksha Sansthan had expanded the numbers of schools and students but it needed to improve students’ quality. “I know this system very closely. The Shiksha Sansthan is expanding in numbers but what about quality? We need to change the goals in all aspects. There should be feeling of proud about the tradition of the institution,” he said.
He suggested putting more concerns towards students’ quality. He said, “Ask any person, from the richest to the poorest, what your dream is? And the answer will be, ‘I want to educate my children’. Everybody wants to give his/her children a better life than what they have led, and want their children to study.”
Emphasizing on teachers’ role in students’ overall development, Mr. Modi said that good education comes from the teachers. Teachers could make a difference to the students’ life. He said knowledge come from all side, one should keep all senses open to grab it.
“We have never been afraid of getting knowledge which can come from any of the four directions. We should ask ourselves, are our minds open to accept the best of the world?” he said in the conference.
He focused on science and technology and referred it as a key role in the growth of the country. “Distance from science and technology hampers our growth. It is important to use technology as much as possible,” he said.
Creating awareness about cleanliness and importance of energy conservation, he said, “Can children from our schools become brand ambassadors of the movement to conserve energy? Cleanliness must become a habit.”
