The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced to publish results of Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2016 on 17 July after 5 PM. The details of results and score card will be available at official website of KEA i.e., www.kea.kar.nic.in in the evening today.
Thousands of aspirants would have set their sights on Sunday evening; that’s when KEA will announce the results of PGCET 2016 (Post-Graduate common entrance test).
The test for admission to MCA, MBA, ME and MTech courses was held this year on 2nd and 3rd July. The results are being delayed by two days and are NOT declared as of yet as few reports are claiming.
The initial release of PGCET result 2016 was scheduled for 15th July via official information brochure and few media outlets cited the results to be out on 12 July itself. But lacking the official word, no clarity came up until last evening when KEA informed the aspirants via its official website- kea.kar.nic.in. The decision came in the wake as the date of editing online application form has been extended to 16 July.
PGCET result 2016 will be hosted on 17-July-2016 after 5:00 PM, says official notification displayed at www.kea.kar.nic.in now.
Karnataka PGCET 2016 was taken across 12 places by over 40 thousand aspirants including 20,325 for MBA courses, 5,492 for MCA course, and few thousand more for ME/MTech courses. More than 20 thousand seats are being offered for admission to this year’s academic session in around 130 colleges under government and management quota.
The preliminary answer keys for all subjects and courses were released on 6th July by KEA while final keys will be displayed along with the results.
The merit list for PGCET 2016 is prepared separately for each course, solely on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam without taking candidates’ marks in qualifying exams into consideration. The marks in qualifying exams are only considered for eligibility and general category aspirants should attend the counselling if they have 50 percent or more marks in the same qualifying exams. Students from SC/ST and reserved categories should have at least 45% as the aggregated total of marks in their qualifying degree course.
Moreover, only Karnataka state residents would be able to claim reservation/quota in PGCET.
For admission to full-time ME/MTech/MArch courses, two separate merit/rank lists are prepared, i.e., one list for GATE candidates taking their GATE score in consideration and other for PGCET 2016, taking entrance test’s marks into consideration. The procedure is for VTU, UBDTCE and UVCE. The same process is followed while preparing merit for part-time courses.
Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will publish the candidate’s result sheet along with final answer keys on the website today on July 17th.
KEA has made it clear that the marks sheets and rank cards wouldn’t be dispatched to any candidate. The candidates must generate print-out of their respective scorecard from official website only which will be valid for participating in the counselling process.
The schedule for counselling and admission process will be notified next week after the results are declared this week. Only the candidates who will qualify the PGCET entrance exam will be enlisted in the merit and will be allowed to attend the counselling. The allocation of seats would be done on the basis of candidates’ rank in the entrance test only.
Via KEA notification.
Candidates are advised to keep checking out the official website for updates and details on results.
