Panjab University opens admissions for B.Ed program through distant education

This program is offered for the academic year 2015-16. Panjab University is a public autonomous university established in Chandigarh, Punjab. The University established in the year 1882, is considered as one of the oldest universities in India.

In the year 1971, the University School of Open Learning started functioning. The objective behind this is to take the university based education well beyond university walls. In this way, the distant education programs of this university has helped those who are not able to access formal education. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Panjab University was ranked number one in India in 2013-14.

Eligibility criteria for this B.Ed program is given as :

1) Candidates should have B.Ed in open distance learning, ODL mode
2) Candidates who have completed teacher training program recognized by National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE through face-to-face mode and not in teacher profession stands eligible.

Procedure for application :

1) Candidates can apply online
2) For students belonging to general category, application fee of Rs. 800 must be paid and for students belonging to SC/ST/BC/PH categories fee of Rs 400 must be paid.

Total number of seats for B.Ed correspondence is 800 and duration of this course is of two tears consisting of four semesters. Last date for applying online form is 16 August 2016, while candidates cab deposit the fee by 19 August 2015. Last date for receiving printed copies of online application form is 26 August 2015.
