Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) on Sunday (December 11) completed the examinations for one of it’s biggest recruitment processes. HSSC Clerk exam that commenced on November 13 with around 1 lakh aspirants taking the exam on the first day, concluded this Sunday with the final slot of examinees taking the exam.
While the exam has been successfully administered across the State, malpractice was reported on the final day when one examinee was caught with the answer keys of the exam.
As per the reports, one aspirant named Narinder Kumar was caught by a female supervisor with the answer keys of the exam. Mr. Kumar was appearing for the Clerk exam in the evening shift at Bhiwani Public School. Once the answer keys found with Mr. Kumar was matched with the question paper, they turned out to be correct. Upon preliminary investigation, it was found that one person impersonated as a flying officer (supervisor) and handed over the answer keys to Mr. Kumar.
SDM Satpal Singh, DSP, Tehsildar, Civil Lines Police Station SHO reached the school as soon as the case was reported. Civil Lines SHO Sanjay Bishnoi said the officials present at the examination center (Bhiwani Public School) handed over Narinder to the police. Narinder Kumar, a resident of Narwana town in the Jind District, was spotted with the answer sheet of HSSC Clerk exam. “The police is examining the case and questioning the accused. Adequate action will follow”, SHO Satpal Singh said.
On being questioned by the police, Narinder said that someone from outside gave him the answer sheet. He has not yet revealed the name of the person. Police also said that one person came in the examination center and was having the ID proof hung around the neck so none of the security staff stopped him. Police is examining the CCTV camera footage to identify the impersonator.
Meanwhile, the Clerk examination to fill around 6,134 vacancies in different departments/ organisations had witnessed around 50 percent participation from the applicants over the ten slot examination held on November 13, 20, 27 & December 4 & 11. The Commission had scheduled the exam to be held in two shifts (morning & evening) on these dates to facilitate around 10 lakh aspirants. Strict security measures were adopted by the Commission to hold the exam in transparent manner.
The commission as of yet, has not issued a statement formally and it’s unclear whether or not the investigation will follow in the exams already held on previous dates. Many of our readers questioned whether the exam is being cancelled. So far we know that the exam will not be cancelled as the wrongdoing has been found only at one place. The story is in development and we’ll let you know if something comes up.
The answer keys of HSSC Clerk exam are expected to be released by the Commission soon.
