The online application process for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET 2017) started today, as notified by the BSE Odisha. The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha has given 14 days windows to fill the applications. OTET 2017 will be conducted by the Board on 25th September, 2017.
OTET is applicable to all the candidates who aspire to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in the schools of the State government, private aided schools and private unaided schools in the State. OTET 2017 is proposed to be conducted as two papers; Category A (Paper 1) and Category B (Paper 2). The eligibility criteria for these two papers under Odisha TET has been framed by the Department of School and Mass Education, Odisha.
OTET 2017 application can be filled through the official website www.bseodisha.ac.in. According to the notice by BSE Odisha, the last date for submitting OTET online application is 7th September, 2017, before 11:45 pm. No application will be accepted after 7 September, 2017.
All the applicants must submit the fee through online or offline mode before 6 September, 2017. The applicants are allowed to appear for only one paper, hence those giving exams for both the categories will lead to disqualification. OTET 2017 will be held on 25th September and the admit cards will be issued on 12th September. The test will be conducted in two sittings; Paper 1 from 10:00 am to 12:30 am, Paper 2 from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
Both the papers under OTET 2017 will comprise of 150 multiple choice questions, each question carrying 1 mark. Paper 1 will have 5 sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1 (Urdu//Hindi/Telugu/Bengali/Odia), language 2 (English), Mathematics, Environment Studies. Each section will have 30 questions.
OTET Paper 2 will have 3 compulsory sections such as Child development and pedagogy, language 1 (Urdu//Hindi/ Telugu/ Bengali/ Odia), Language II- English. Each section will have 30 questions. The remaining 60 questions will be under 1 section: A (Mathematics & Science) and B (Social Studies).
For all the candidates who aspire to take paper 1, he/she must have completed higher secondary schooling with minimum 50 percent marks, plus a two year diploma in elementary education or two year diploma in special education.
For Paper 2, the aspirant must be a graduate with at least 50 percent marks, plus one year Bachelors in Education (B.Ed.). Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC category will be given relaxation of 5 percent minimum qualification in +2 or graduate level.
