NTSE answer key 2017 for the exam conducted on November 4th and November 5th has now been released by many of the premier coaching institutions such Allen. Being one of the biggest and most prestigious national level scholarship test in the country, conducted across all states, NTSE attracts nearly 10 lakh students each year.

NTSE 2017-2018 on 4th November was conducted in the states of Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands while examination in all other states and Union territories was held on 5th November, 2017. This is the stage 1 test conducted by each state separately. The stage 2 test for students who will qualify the NTSE stage 1 exam will be held on May 13th, 2018 by NCERT for all states and Union Territories.

NTSE key released so far is by the coaching institutions, not by the state departments. The States have not disclosed the date when official answer keys will be released. Students should note that to check the official NTSE key 2017, they would be required to visit the dedicated official website of their state. The results also would be declared separately by each state for stage 1. The conduct of stage 2 exam along with the publication of results will be carried out by NCERT.

Up till now, only about a thousand scholarships are awarded on the basis of students’ performance in the NTSE exams. Out of which, 15% are reserved for students of SC category, 7.5% for ST students and 4% for physically challenged group of students. The official notification should be taken into reference for checking the reservation rules in details. There’s some good news for OBC category students too as the government has approved the inclusion of quota for OBC in NTSE, but from next year.

Even though the exam was divided state-wise, the standard of the syllabus and pattern of the examination has been set by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

Consisting of a total 200 questions, NTSE stage 1 exam carries 200 marks which are further distributed as; 50 marks for Mental Aptitude Test (MAT), 50 mark for Language Test (Hindi/English), and 100 marks for Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

While tallying the answers you marked in the exam versus the ones provided in NTSE key by Allen, consider that 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 1/3 mark(s) will be deducted for each wrong answer.
