NPS International School of Guwahati tops in CBSE Film making contest

NPS International School situated at Guwahati is a senior secondary school affiliated to CBSE board. It is a day boarding school and itself is the first English medium school in Northeast. NPS international school has brought northeast in headlines by securing first position in national film making competition. Among 290 schools who actually participated in the competition only 30 of them qualified. But NPS won the contest as it was greatly admired by the juries.

The ‘Assam Bamboo Craft’ documented by three students of NPS International School of Guwahati is based on living of northeast region. According to them, this film will help the people of our country understanding the way of life in northeast.

Main role played behind this marvelous achievement were Ms. Nikita Basumatary, the scriptwriter, the narrator Ms. Aakaanksha Das and the editing courtesy goes to Ms. Parishma Saikia who all are class 12 commerce students. NPS International School has sent their film to The Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2015 which is a non-profit organization and India’s only independent film festival.

Young and aspiring film makers from all over the world takes part in this film festival. This year countries like UK, USA, Germany, France, Singapore participated. The film that NPS International presented (Assam Bamboo Craft) won awards in two categories; ‘best documentary’ and ‘best cinematography’.

This film was also sent to many of the film festivals across India such as Bangalore Short International Film Festival, 2015 and Kolkata International Film Festival, 2015. And is praised by all for the best work of art. A certificate was handed over to each one of the students in the group for their performance together with a trophy and a total sum of Rs 10,000.

According to NPS International School authorities, they have arranged scope for different cultural activities for students in the school. Co-curriculum activities together with studies keeps the students interested in coming over to the school. The authorities believe that not all students might be good at studies an thus co-curriculum activities would inspire the students to know about their real talent. Achievement like this makes more students to actively take part in different cultural and social activities.

Parents thinks that the administration offered by NPS International School is so far the best in northeast region with all facilities a school should provide to a student and a school where parents would send their children with complete confidence. NPS international had always produced such brilliant students who are now either studying in India or abroad.
