National Law University, Delhi, the organizing authority of AILET has released the official notification of the test. The next edition of the All-India Law Entrance Test (AILET) will be held on May 06, 2018 from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. The admission notice will be issued in the first week of January 2018 and the application form will be available on the University website: nludelhi.ac.in from the first week of January 2018. There are total 21 test centers in which the AILET Exam would be conducted.
The All-India Law Entrance Test (AILET), conducted by NLU Delhi annually is for admission to its Five-Year Integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons) programme, one-year LL.M., and Ph.D programmes. Through the all India based test, 73 students are selected for the popular BA LLB (Hons.) course. Out of the total 73 seats, 52 seats are open for students from the general category, 11 seats are reserved for candidates from the Scheduled Caste category, 5 seats for Scheduled Tribes category, 2 for Persons with Disabilities and 3 for Kashmiri Migrants (1) and residents of Jammu and Kashmir (2).
In addition to these 73 seats, 10 seats are offered each year to foreign nationals whose merit list is formulated according to their qualifying marks in their respective higher secondary (or equivalent) examinations. For the LLM programme, 20 seats are available in NLU Delhi. The number of seats for the Ph.D programme is notified at the beginning of each year by the UGC.
Once the AILET 2018 application process begins, the candidates will be able to fill in the application form online on the official website of AILET. No hard copy of AILET Application Form and Information Brochure will be sold to a candidate under any circumstance. Candidates belonging to General will have to pay Rs 3,000 towards the application fee while those belonging to SC/ST category will have to pay Rs 1,000. BPL candidates of SC/ST Category are exempted from paying the application fee.
The candidates are required to secure a minimum of 40% (30% for SC and ST candidates) out of the total marks in the AILET 2018 to become eligible for the admission. The undergraduate law aspirants will be admitted to BA LLB programme in NLU Delhi on the basis of AILET 2018 Merit.
On appearing in the Admission Test of NLU Delhi, the candidate will get an All India Rank (AIR) as per the performance in the law entrance exam. After the declaration of AILET Merit List, NLU-D conducts an offline counselling for admitting the qualifying candidates. The result of AILET 2018 for BA LLB programme is expected to be declared by the 3rd week of May 2018.
Candidates can collect AILET Previous Years Question Papers Booklet (2008-2015) by depositing cash of Rs.500 from the office of the National Law University, Delhi by Credit /Debit Cards or through post by sending a DD of Rs.550 in favour of “Registrar, National Law University, Delhi” payable at Delhi.
