Admit Card for NIFT Entrance Exam 2017 and selection process

The National Institute of Fashion Technology has released admit card for NIFT entrance exam 2017. The exam is meant to facilitate admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in its various campuses across India. NIFT 2017 exam is scheduled to be held on 12 February and the admit cards are available now.

NIFT 2017 is going to held in pen & paper mode across 30 cities of India. The exam is being conducted for admissions in Bachelors program – Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) & Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech) and Masters Programme – Master of Design (M.Des.), Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M) and Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech).

The test will be held in different formats for UG and PG courses. For the design courses of Bachelor and Masters, there will be two paper in two different slots i.e. CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test). And, for the rest of candidates, there will be only one paper i.e. GAT. In CAT, the candidates will be checked for their intuitive ability, power of concentration in concept development and design ability of the students. After the written test, all the candidates, except B.F.Tech candidates, will be shortlisted for the situational test/ Group Discussion/ Interview. The students who have applied for a bachelor degree in design courses would have to undergo a situational test where candidates will be evaluated for their skill for material handling and innovative ability on a given situation with a given set of materials. And the candidates who have applied for Masters Degree, they would have to for group discussion round.

The final result on the performance of various stages will be declared around the end of May or at the starting of June. Accordingly, the counselling will start for selected students in 16 campuses across India.
