As reported, The answer key for NEET 2016 examinations of phase 1 and phase 2 has been released by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Candidates may access the NEET (official) answer key now of aipmt.nic.in.
NEET answer key for phase 1 and phase 2 exam has been released on August 8 after CBSE had extended the date for submitting challenges to the OMR sheets uploaded on the NEET official site on August 4. The last date to challenge the OMR sheets uploaded by the CBSE was fixed as August 6, but the Board released a revised notification on August 6, stating that the candidates will be able to submit their objections till August 7.
Central Board of Secondary Education had conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in two phases, conferring to the Supreme Curt’s verdict dated April 28. The All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) held on May 1 was referred to as NEET-1 while the second test was proposed to be conducted on July 24. As per the schedule, the test was conducted in two phases in which around 11.5 lakh appeared. The first phase of NEET witnessed the participation of over 6.5 lakh aspirants, while around 3.4 lakh among these re-appeared for the test in July as the Supreme Court had allowed NEET-1 candidates to appear for the phase 2 test given the condition that they agree to forfeit their candidature for NEET-1. Another 1.3 lakh candidates took NEET for the first time in July, thus taking total eligible candidates to be waiting for their results to 7.5 lakh.
Among several controversies, protests, allegations of question paper leak, the CBSE stated that the test was conducted in a fair manner in both the phases and hence moved forward with the proceedings related to the preparation of NEET result. Among the various steps, the first one was to display the images of OMR answer sheets and responses to the questions marked by the candidates. CBSE uploaded the OMR sheets on August 4 and said in a notification that the candidates can submit their objections related to the uploaded OMR sheets by August 6 (5 PM). However, another notification was rolled out on August 6, extending the date to challenge OMR answer sheets by one day to August 7 (5 PM).
The notification read “The dates for display of OMR Answer Sheets have been extended by 01 day and accordingly the candidates can check the scanned images of their OMR sheet by logging into their account using their user ID (Registration No.) and Password on NEET website.”
The candidates were expecting that the CBSE will upload NEET answer key on August 7 itself, once the OMR Challenge option closes, however, the answer keys are yet to be updated on the official site. As per the earlier notified schedule, NEET answer keys for both Phase 1 and phase 2 test were scheduled to be released on August 7. Now, it can be safely said that NEET 1 & NEET 2 answer key will be released on August 8, however, the confirmation on time has not been given by the Board.
NEET answer key will be available on aipmt.nic.in and the candidates will be able to access them after logging into the site using their registration number.
