The answer keys for NDA 1 2017 exam that was conducted on April 23 has been released with question paper and solutions. The coaching provider institute, Major Kalshi Classes has published the same. Check below.
Several coaching institutes including the likes of Cavalier, Resonance and Baalnoi Academy will prepare and publish the NDA answer key pdf so that the candidates can download them. The unofficial answer keys/paper solutions are expected to be available today (Monday) by evening but official answer keys are not coming anytime soon as trend goes. Updates follow below.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the official notification of NDA/NA – I 2017 exam in January and the applications were submitted from January 18 to February 10. For the first time, UPSC released the admit cards of NDA exam in two phases; first for Non-Delhi centers and then for Delhi centers. Following the schedule, the written exam was conducted on April 23 for all the registered candidates.
The number of vacancies to be filled through the exam is 390; further classified as 335 vacancies in National Defence Academy (208 for Army, 55 for Navy & 72 for Air Force) and 55 vacancies in Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme).
As far as the NDA answer key is considered, the UPSC releases the official version of answer key, however, it takes time. For the convenience of the aspirants, many leading coaching institutes publish their versions of the answer keys, though they are not official, but the candidates may find them useful in order to assess their performance in the written test.
One of the defense coaching institute – Cavalier Academy is yet to publish the answer key of NDA 2017 exam. Once published, the candidates can find NDA answer key here. The candidates can check the NDA answer key (unofficial version) and solved paper as prepared by Major Kalshi Classes from here.
NDA/ NA 1 2017 exam was conducted as an offline exam of 900 marks, as usual. The exam was conducted in different venues located at 41 Centers (Cities) across the country. The paper consisted of two subjects – Mathematics (300 marks) and General Ability Test-GAT of 600 marks. The Mathematics section had 120 questions, while GAT section had 150 questions divided among Part A (English) & Part B (General Knowledge).
The competition in NDA exam is quite tough as negative marking is also applicable, 1/3rd marks allotted to a question will be deducted from total score for each wrong response. As per the rules, the role of UPSC is to conduct the written exam and announce the results. The shortlisted candidates, as per the merit, are then required to report to the respective Services Selection Board.
The Commission will prepare a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam. The expected cut-off marks will be in the range of 285-295 marks, based on previous exams trends. The shortlisted candidates will be called for Intelligence and Personality Test which will be taken by Services Selection Board(s). The SSB Test/ Interview will carry 900 marks.
The results of NDA written exam will be announced in June, the exact date will be notified by the Commission soon at its official website along with the dates of Personal Interview.
