Hindu students were offered scholarships by a Muslim NGO recently. Muslim NGO named Jamiat Ulama E Maharashtra gave scholarships worth Rs. 50 lakh to students from class six to those doing graduation studies, that includes engineering and medical streams. Students selected for scholarship belong to various schools and colleges of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
As per the released statement, 400 students would get benefited by the scholarships and of these 50 students belong to Hindu community. The cheques worth Rs. 50 lakh were distributed in the presence of Maulana Azmi, State President of Jamiat Ulama E Maharashtra, Gulzar Azmi, president of legal aid cell, Maulana Halimullah Qasmi, secretary and Amin Patel, Congress MLA.

This was not the first time these scholarships were given, even earlier also it was provided to the students and this process would continue in the future also, Gulzar Azmi spoke at the function which was held for the distribution of the scholarships.
According to Maulana Mustaqueem Azmi, these scholarships were awarded to deserving students ever since the year 1919, when it was first established. He further added that, NGO, while helping the society, had never made any religious discrimination and had helped students from all community.
Maulana Azmi also told that, that there are many such trusts and NGOs that provides assistance to the Muslim students who deserved scholarships. JUM-AM strives to respond the noble gesture in its humble way.
