MPPSC state services prelims exam will be held on Feb 10 in two shifts

MPPSC examMadhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) State Services Prelims exam is scheduled to be held on 10th February and the Commission has already issued the admit cards for all the applicants. The examination is proposed to be held in 52 cities. The applicants can download their respective admit cards from the official website by using the registration id and date of birth as login credentials.

MPPSC had issued two separate advertisements (advt. no. 06/exam/2016 for State Service Examination 2017 and advt. no. 07/exam/2016 for State Forest Service Examination 2017) on 5th December 2016. The notifications were rolled out to fill 190 posts under State Services cadre and 174 posts under Forest Services. On 11th January, the posts under State Service Exam were revised and new 169 posts of Naib Tehsildar were added, taking the total count of posts to 359. Initially, only 34 posts of Naib Tehsildar were notified.

The applications for MPPSC State Services and Forest Services were filled from 9 December to 8 January and while many aspirants wished the applications dates to be revised once the new posts were added, the Commission decided not to commence the process again.

MPPSC would conduct only one preliminary exam under both notifications and only the qualified candidates will be called to take the Mains exam. There will be separate Mains exam for State Services and State Forest Services.

MPPSC Prelims exam will be conducted in two shifts on 10th February. The candidates will have to take two papers: Paper 1 (General Studies) from 10 am to 12 noon and Paper 2 (General Aptitude) from 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm. Each paper will consist of 100 questions, with each question having 2 marks.

The qualification criteria is different for both the exams. While the merit list for State Services will be based on only the marks of Paper-1 (General Studies), the aspirants of Forest Services will be judged on the basis of both papers.

For State Services Exam: The merit list will be based on Paper 1, while Paper 2 will remain qualifying in nature. The qualifying marks for Paper 2 are 40 percent for general category and 30% for rest of the candidates.

For Forest Services Exam: The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in both the papers. The candidates are required to score minimum qualifying marks in both the papers. The minimum qualifying marks will be 40 percent for general category and 30 percent for rest candidates in each paper. The candidates equal to 15 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Forest Services Mains exam.
