Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) came into existence on January 1, 1966. It is an autonomous organization, which conducts the SSC & HSC exam every year in the state. Total of 21000 schools and 7000 schools are affiliated to SSC and HSC respectively.
Maharashtra State Board had announced the SSC results. The overall pass percentage was increased by 4.06 percent recording highest passed percentage ever in the history of state. 91.46 percent students passed the exam representing the ultimate success. The rise in pass percent has shown the improvement made by the State Board in their exam pattern. According to the officials, the significant rise in pass percent will help the state to grow and compete with other states.
Among 15,72,268 students who appeared for the exam, only 1,34,246 students were unable to qualify. Rest who passed the exam were eligible for higher studies.
The highest pass percentage recorded in all nine divisions were Konkan with 96.54 percent, while Mumbai stands in fourth position with success rate of 92 percent. The Latur division was recorded with lowest passed percentage with 86.38 percent. However, like every year girls are on the top. Also the pass percent of girls were better than that of boys. The performance of all nine divisions under MSBSHSE are :
Pune – 95.10%
Mumbai – 92.90%
Kolhapur – 95.12%
Nasik – 92.16%
Nagpur – 87.01%
Latur – 86.38%
Aurangabad – 90.57%
Amravati – 86.84%
Konkan – 96.54%
The state board examination was conducted in the month of March and results were declared on June. The overall pass percentage of state was recorded 91.4 percent.
However, the students who were not able to qualify in their first attempt will get another chance to get themselves among pass percent as said by the Board to local press. According to the officials though the pass percentage has increased from last year, only 8 percent of students failed. And in order to give them a second chance MSBSHSE, for the first time ever had decided to conduct a re-test. The re-test were commenced on 21 July and will continue till 5 August.
Maximum number of students registered were from Mumbai. Officials said that the students who will clear the re-test would also be eligible to take admission for higher studies.
The result of re-test is supposed to be published in the third week of August. The results can be viewed in the official website of MSBSHSE, which are www.mahresult.nic.in and mahasscboard.maharashtra.gov.in.
