The directorate is reportedly going to declare MH CET result 2016 today in the afternoon officially through mhtcet2016.co.in and the merit list is slated to be released on 14th June. The marks achieved by the students will be known to the today once MHCET result is announced while the rank will be out in two weeks time.
Maharashtra state government had conducted the MHT-CET 2016 through CET Cell, Mumbai earlier this month and now is the time for the declaration of MHCET result. The results will be released online at the dedicated official web portal www.mhtcet2016.co.in and www.dmer.org on June 1, as per the schedule.
The registration process for common entrance test had started back in March while the exam was organized across the state on May 5. So far, CET Cell has followed the proposed schedule and hence the MH CET Results will also be announced on the proposed day, i.e. June 1. The provisional keys of all papers were published online, followed by display of OMR answer sheets. Authorities have also clarified that the MHT CET 2016 merit list would be released on or before June 14.
MHT CET 2016 has been conducted for shortlisting students for admission to Engineering, Pharmacy, MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, B.PTh, BOTh, BASLP, BP&O, B.Sc. (Nursing), B.V.Sc. & AH courses offered in institutions across the state of Maharashtra.
Director of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Dr Pravin Shingare said, “Government has taken precautionary step by filing a caveat in the apex court to prevent the stay on CETs.” Central government had passed an ordinance this month, allowing states to conduct their own common entrance tests for medical admissions.
Government has decided to commence the admission process through ‘Freeze, Float or Slide’ policy, reported PagalGuy. Under the policy, students will be allocated seat in a particular institute based on their rank in MHT CET and will have two choices; either to confirm the seat or they can forfeit the seat and wait for another round of allocation. The policy is aimed towards reducing the number of wasted seats in engineering and medical colleges during admission process.
More than 2.83 lakh students took MH CET 2016 for medical admissions while 1.2 lakh engineering aspirants took the exam for admissions in various disciples of engineering offered at affiliated institutes across the state.
As clarified under the ordnance passed by Central government, MHT CET 2016 would only facilitate admissions for 2,810 seats in government-run medical institutes and all admissions in private medical institutions would solely be based on National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
The counselling for seats through MHCET 2016 is going to be held in July and is scheduled to end even before the NEET counselling begins.
MHT CET 2016 results would be available at www.dmer.org, we are keeping track of all the updates related to the publication of MHT CET results and will brief the page with latest proceedings.
