MH CET law is poised to be held on 18 and 19 June while CPT is also slated for 19 June. With plenty of aspirants have applied for both exams, the clash of dates has left them in a state of dilemma.
Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell issued official notification on May 7 announcing its decision to conduct first-ever CET for admission to law courses offered at government, aided and un-aided institutes/colleges across the state. With the proposed schedule of MAH CET (Law), aspirants who registered for the test are going through a phase of dilemma as the test date clashes with the Common Proficiency Test (CPT). Mah CET (Law) will be conducted on June 18 and 19 for admission into five-year full time regular LL.B and three-year LL.B course respectively.
It is evident that aspirants taking chartered accountancy go for law studies too, as studying the legal aspects is very important in the accountancy profession. A total of 22,698 candidates have registered for the 3-year LL.B course under Mah CET (Law) and many of them are among applicants of CPT June which will be held on June 19 (Sunday).
Online applications for Mah-LLB CET 2016 were invited by State CET Cell from May 10 to May 25. Later, the CET cell reopened application process from June 1 to June 3 in lieu of great response from aspirants.
When many students registered complaint over the date clash of Mah-LLB CET with CPT June, it was expected that the CET cell will come up with a solution for the issue, however, no such decision was made. State CET cell issued admit cards for the test on June 8 and it became clear that the test will be conducted as per the schedule and students would have to make their own choice regarding which test they will be going for.
State CET cell has received total 36,912 registrations for the first Mah CET (Law) and the official data reveals that the test has attracted many aspirants outside the state. More than 2500 outside candidates have registered for the test. The results of Mah LLB CET will be declared on June 30 and subsequently the students’ intake and fee structure will be revealed by the State CET cell for counselling.
