What comes as major news for the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh is that the hon’ble Supreme Court has given nod to establish five Medical colleges in the state including 40 others. MCI refused to give permission to these five colleges. Colleges which have received the approval includes: Modern Institute of Medical Sciences, Dewas Ka Amaltas Instiute of Medical Sciences, Mahavir Institute of Medical Science Bhopal,Sukhsagar Medical College, Jabalpur and Sakshi Medical College. With this decision, there has been an extensive increase of 750 MBBS seats in Madhya Pradesh. With this the total MBBS seats in Madhya Pradesh turns out to be 2450.

There are as many as 3 colleges with AAA rating among the Top Medical Colleges of Madhya Pradesh 2015 including Gajra Raja Medical College, Gwalior; Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal; and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore. The state also boasts a new AIIMS located in Bhopal. This college is rated AA+ among the Top Medical Colleges in Madhya Pradesh 2015.
