The university of Pune is going to announce results of Maharashtra SET exam 2016 within next week. The official notification had stated the date of results on or before 20th July, however, going per the activities on answer keys and objections, it’s expected that SET exam results might get delayed by few days.
Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (SET) was conducted across the state on May 29, 2016 and the examination authority had also successfully released the interim answer keys of the exam for all the papers in the official site setexam.unipune.ac.in so that candidates can check their answers and point out the objection, if any so that the results could be prepared. Currently, the authority is waiting for the candidates’ response over released answer keys and it is expected that the Maharashtra SET results would be announced in the last week of July.
Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune) had conducted the State Eligibility test on the behalf of state government. The University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts NET (National Eligibility Test) across the country to determine the eligibility of a person to be appointed as Assistant Professor in Universities/affiliated colleges and has additionally empowered state governments to conduct their own State Eligibility Tests (SET) for the same. In lieu of the same, Savitribai Phule Pune University holds the authority for organizing the SET as the State Agency for Maharashtra government and Goa government.
The state eligibility test consisted of three papers, held in a single day in two sessions. The answer keys of all four sets – A, B, C & D of Paper 1 along with Paper 2 and 3 were uploaded by the varsity on the official site on July 8. Along with the answer keys, online feedback form was also made available the same day so that candidates can submit the objections in the answer keys. The candidates were asked to submit the objections through online feedback application form by July 14, 6 PM. It was also notified that the candidates would have to submit the printout of the online feedback form along with demand draft of appropriate amount (Rs 1,000 per question), evidence in support of answers and RTGS form duly completed by July 20. The varsity would then evaluate the received feedbacks and prepare the final answer keys, based on which the result would be prepared. A total of 85,497 registrations were received for Maharashtra SET 2016. The test was conducted for 32 subjects at 15 centers across Maharashtra and Goa. As per the UGC guidelines, a person needs to score a minimum of 40 percent marks in Paper 1 & Paper 2 and 50 percent marks in Paper 3(35 & 40 percent marks in case of reserved category candidates). The subject-wise merit list will be released along with category wise list and top 15 percent candidates from both lists will be declared SET qualified and will be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor in Universities/affiliated colleges.
