May 26, 2017, Update: Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Maharashtra has confirmed that HSC result 2017 will be declared on May 29. HSC result 2017 date was confirmed by officials and www.mahresult.nic.in will publish the Mah HSC result on the said date.
May 25, 2017, 07:50 PM Update: Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Maharashtra, is set to declare the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results. Secondary School Certificate results will be out after few days. Maharashtra HSC result 2017 at www.mahresult.nic.in are set to be declared but as per fresh reports, it might take few more days. .
All in all, Maharashtra HSC results 2017 are expected to be declared in next few days, the result announcement will be made online at the official result portal mahresult.nic.in. Around 15 lakh students are waiting for the HSC results which will be declared simultaneously for all the nine divisional offices, namely, Amravati, Aurangabad, Konkan, Kolhapur, Latur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, and Pune.
This year, the HSC examination were conducted by the Board from February 28 to March 25. As much as 337 centres were set up in Mumbai for HSC exams wherein 3,39,000 students were registered. The HSC exams March 2017 were conducted in around 2,710 exam centres across nine divisions. While the maximum number of students were from Mumbai region, Pune followed it with 2,42,628 students.This year, total 15,05,365 students were registered for HSC exams, comprising of 8,48,929 boys and 6,56,436 girls from 9,143 junior colleges.

As per the streams, Science stream accounted for maximum students with as much as 5,59,423 registered students. Meanwhile, 5,09,124 students had registered for Arts stream, followed by 3,73,870 students in Commerce stream. Another 62,148 students were registered for minimum competency vocational course (MCVC).
While the exams concluded on March 25, the assessment of answer sheets got delayed due to the protest of teachers. However, as soon as the teachers withdrew their protest, the assessment work started. “With the timely assessment of answer sheets, the results for the two board exams are likely to be announced on time,” Kolhapur divisional board Chairman VB Paymal told ToI. Around 10 lakh answer sheets of HSC have been assessed and these assessed answer sheets were submitted to the Kolhapur division on Monday, he further said.
As per the process, after the submission of the answer sheets, the marks secured by the students are scanned and then the marks are sent to the respective department for further formalities. It is only after this process that HSC results are announced.
Last year, a total of 13,21,821 students were registered for HSC examination, while 13,19,754 appeared for the exams held in March. As the HSC results were declared on May 25, 86.60 percent (11,42,882) students were declared pass. The Board is expecting a further rise in the passing percentage this year.
While multiple reports are hinting that Maharashtra HSC results will be declared on May 25, tomorrow, but the Board has not provided any update on it. In 2016, the results were declared on May 25, however, the same is not expected to follow this time. The Board is expected to announce the exact HSC result date in a day or two and then the results will be announced. Even if the results do not come tomorrow, it is for sure that the HSC results will be announced before the end of this month.
HSC results hold immense importance for the students as the marks secured by the students in the board exams are useful for admission in undergraduate courses. As per the decision taken by the State board last year, the Class 12th (HSC) results will be declared on or before May 31.
