LPU Faculty honored with Glory of India Award, desires to be a change-maker

In the recent past there was some chaos going around on the news that writers across the country were returning their awards and people from different fields have something or the other to say about it. But the achievements never stop as we Indians are geniuses and this requires no proof. And adding another achievement, Lovely Professional University Assistant Professor Dr Vinod Kumar from the School of Arts & Languages has been honored with ‘Glory of India Award for Education Excellence’ by The Economic Growth Society of India. In the words of Munshi Premchand “Literature isn’t something that follows politics, but leads it like a torch”.

In the contest conducted by The Economic Growth Society of India and participated by a total 150+ people, Dr. Vinod along with other 22 educationists from across India were considered for awards. A series of hundred Vedic lectures was organized by Maharishi Sandeepini National Ved Vidya Pratisthan (Ujjain) which runs under the aegis of Human Resource Development Ministry of India, Dr Vinod was recently been appointed a resource person.

Dr. Vinod who is presently providing research guidance to LPU’s Ph.D and M.Phil students also has two important books to his credit in the field of drama namely : ‘Ramesh Bakshi ke Natakon maen Rangmanchiyata’ & ‘Surendra Varma ke Natakon main Rangmanchiyata’. The person who has also got a large number of research papers published in the national and International journals said, “Through continuous efforts in the field of my subject including computational linguistics workshops, researches and more, I want to prove that even a Hindi language student is as much able as of any other subject or stream.”

He has a desire to bring total happiness in the society by being a change-maker. He raised the question “How can I be in a progressive and prosperous state if persons around me are living in pitiable conditions?” He told that he always kept a part from his salary for the needy students. Feeling proud and motivated on receiving the award, Dr Vinod shared, “I also impart free Hindi typing lessons to my students so that they may even get well placed in Fortune companies or news agencies as content writers/ translators etc.”

The award ceremony was held during national seminar on ‘Individual Growth and Social Development’ at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Panaji, Goa. He is also a recipient of other prestigious conferment including ‘Sammaan Patra for Development of Hindi’ and Gold Medal for Best Research Paper ‘Stress and Education’. LPU Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal congratulated Dr Vinod on his first-rate achievement and encouraged him to continue devoting himself for the betterment of education and the society.
