Only four days are remaining to register for KVPY 2015 exam which is scheduled to be conducted on 1 November for the year 2015. KVPY or Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is the very first step for students who wish to pursue their higher studies in basic science courses and have a desire to establish their career in research or wish to take admission in the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc. Bangalore) and Indian Institute of Scientific Education and Research (IISER) after their Class 12 Board Exams.
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, the body that administers the pen and paper based test will close the online application registration process along with payment of application fee in next four days i.e. August 30, 2015. So interested candidates who have not yet applied pull up your socks and do not wait for last minute rush.
As per the teachers of some renowned schools across the country, “The number of students taking the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) scholarship exam, one of the exams whose scores are used for admission to the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), is on the rise”.
The registration process for KVPY 2015 exam commenced on July 12, 2015 for all the Streams namely: Stream SA, Stream SX and Stream SB. Stream SA is applicable to students of Class 11, Stream SX is applicable to the students of Class 12 and Stream SB is applicable to the candidates who are enrolled in the first year of basic sciences course. If the candidates get selected then they are paid contingency grants till Ph.D. level provided they do all their studies in basic science courses.

Payment and Application Mode
Candidates have to apply online on the official website of KVPY. Candidates while filling the application have to upload their recent passport size coloured photograph and their latest signatures.
Application Fee: Desirous candidates also have to pay an application fee amounting to Rs. 1055 (applicable to General/OBC Category) and Rs. 528 (applicable to SC/ST and Pwd Category) via either of the two modes:
- Mode 1: Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking
- Mode 2: Bank Challan
Thousands of students participate in the prestigious examination which is conducted on yearly basis. Last year the exam was conducted on 2 November for which the result was declared on 21 March 2015. So if the result of the year 2014 is taken into consideration then a total of 3390 scholarships were offered.
