KEA to declare NEET 2nd round seat allotment today

KEA NEET seat allotment result for second round will be announced today. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has scheduled the release of NEET 2nd round allotment for 5.30 pm and the students who have participated in the option entry for 2nd round will be able to check their allotment status shortly.

The Karnataka Examination Authority is going to release the second allotment result for KEA Neet 2017 today on 21 August, 2017, after 5:00 pm. The allotment is being conducted for the admission to Medical and Dental courses. As per the recent notification from the Authority, the students can report to their respective colleges up to 24 August, 2017 before 5:30 p.m.

For all those students who are already holding a seat in the first round and have also gone for choice-2, the seat possessed by the candidate for the first round will automatically be cancelled if he/she gets a better college in the second round. The seat allotted to the candidate will be rejected if the candidate has opted for choice 3 and are participating in the second round.

The complete merit list for all Karnataka candidates who have cleared the NEET 2017, was published on 22 July, 2017. A total of 56,622 candidates cleared the examination, of which 20,071 candidates are non-Karnataka aspirants. As per the reports, total seats for all the medical and dental colleges are 8,695, of which 6,930 belongs to MBBS and 2,305 to BDS.

The first Allotment result for KEA NEET 2017 was published on 29 July, 2017 and later, KEA published the schedule for 2nd round of seat allotment. The second round comprises of the seats left vacant after the completion of first round. Apart from the vacant seats, another 245 Medical and 25 Dental seats were added in the second round by the Government on 17th August. For the second round, 1,720 Medical and 1,937 Dental seats are available for allotment.

KEA opened the option entry panel on 17th August and the same closed on Saturday. Now as per the schedule updated by KEA, the options entered by the candidates during the window are being processed and the seats will be allotted to the candidates as per their preference/ eligibility.
