Finally, KEA started the counselling for second round of admissions under CET 2016 in Karnataka. KCET 2016 2nd round allotment is scheduled for Monday while option entry can be exercised upto 17 July. KEA has updated the link for Second Round Allotment result now.
After a long pause of 5 days in the counselling related activities, KEA has finally announced the schedule for second round seat allotment. The candidates sighed a relief as the revised seat allotment schedule for the second round – CET 2016 was released by the authority on July 13. The results for first round were announced on July 1.

The seat matrix has also been put up on the official site depicting the status of vacant seats in the colleges thus participating in the CET counselling. The candidates can exercise the option entry (only for newly added seats), modify / delete / re-order their options entered in the first round from July 14 to July 17, up to 1 PM. The allotment results for second round counselling will be declared on July 18 as candidates will have time till July 21 to report to the allotted college to complete the admission formalities.
Candidates will not be allowed to enter options again, however, the priority of options can be altered in the second round. If a candidate had been allotted a seat in the first round but did not confirm admission, only the higher order choices made by him/her will be considered in the second round.
The candidates were divided in four categories after the first round; Choice 1, 2, 3 & 4. The candidates with Choice 1 implies that the seat allotted to him/her was final and the admission formalities have been furnished from candidate’s end. Such candidates are not being considered in the second round. Choice 2 : The candidate had been allotted a seat of his/her choice, but wishes to continue with the seat allotment process to take up the chances of betterment with an option of retaining the previously allotted seat. Choice 3 : The seat allotted to the candidate was not up to the mark and hence he/she has surrendered the seat. Choice 4 candidates have taken a seat elsewhere and have quit upon the KEA allotment process. The seat allotment in second round would go on for Choice 2 and 3 candidates.
Seat allotment would be made by following the Roster system based on the merit/rank of the candidate and priority of options entered by the candidates. The candidates thus allotted seat in the second round, would have similar choices to entertain from Choice 1, 2, 3 & 4. Proceed towards the official site for option entry.
