Karnataka: KEA held its PGCET entrance examination for admission to post-graduation courses 2016 session on 2nd and 3rd July. On the first day, reportedly 5,492 aspirants wrote the exam for MCA course which was held in the first shift on 2nd July between 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. 6,137 had applied for MCA course entrance.
While for MBA course, only 20,325 appeared out of 29,300 who had registered, marking the absence of 8,975 aspirants. Test for MBA course was held between 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm on 2nd July.
PGCET for M.E/M.Tech/MM.Arch type A and typeB courses were conducted on 3rd July in two shifts too with same time slots. KEA also conducted the Diploma CET on Sunday.
The examination has been conducted at 12 places across the state and over 20,000 seats in about 130 colleges under the government and management quota would be available to the shortlisted candidates.
Karnataka Examinations Authority had invited applications for this Post Graduate Common Entrance Test for admission to the academic session set to begin this year. The admission to the 1st year/ 1st semester MBA, MCA, M.E, M.tech, M.Arch, M.tech QIP and 2nd year lateral entry to MCA courses in the state of Karnataka are taken on the basis of PGCET ranks.
KEA also notified that provisional PGCET answer key will be uploaded on the main website (kea.kar.nic.in) on 6th July, i.e., within three days of the completion of the test and objections can be submitted by students before 10th July (5:30 pm).
The results of the test are poised to be declared on 15th July with which, the final answer keys will also be uploaded online. The merit list for PGCET 2016 will be separate for each course, and will be prepared on the basis of mark obtained in the written entrance exam. Candidates’ marks in qualifying exams would not be taken into consideration while preparing merit.
