KEA has announced the allotment results for the first round of DCET 2016 and the details are now available at KEA website.
The students were allowed to exercise the option entry from July 22 and initially the authority had released the mock allotment results on July 26 so that the students can get an idea about their eligibility to secure a seat in their preferred college/course.
Based on the mock allotment status, the option entry was again opened after the results and was closed on July 28. As the KEA is done with the compilation of changes in option entry, the Diploma CET real allotment result will be published after 1 PM on July 29, 2016.
Karnataka Examinations Authority had conducted the Diploma Common Entrance Test on July 3 for admissions to 2nd year/3rd Semester B.E./B.Tech. courses and 1st year B.Arch. course in which over 30 thousand candidates had appeared. The results of the DCET were announced on July 12 and the qualified students were provided with the ranks based on their performance in the test. The results were published in the form of rank list and as much as 26,279 students were given rank for admissions in Day Colleges, 815 students for Evening Colleges and 134 students were provided rank for Architecture course.
As the KEA would publish the DCET allotment result today, the students would be able to check their allotment status by logging into the site using their DCET number. The students would have to confirm their allotment between July 30 to August 03. The students would also have to pay fees between these days. The students will have four choices after the declaration of Diploma CET allotment result, Choice 1 implies that the students is satisfied with the allotment and will take the admission in the allotted seat itself; Choice 2 should be selected if the student is satisfied with the allotment but wishes to participate in the second round of counselling for higher order options, Choice 3 for those students who do not accept the allotted seat & will look for higher order allotment in the second round and Choice 4 for the students who are not satisfied with the allotted seat and have got seat elsewhere.
If a student has selected Choice 1, he/she should get the printout of the Challan to pay the KEA prescribed fee. After one hour of making the payment, the students will be able to download the admission order. The students are then required to report to the respective college with the original documents to secure their admission. Similarly, the students who select Choice 2, they are also required to pay the fee, however, the admission order would not be generated for them. For Choice 3 students, they need not pay the fee.
As there will be only two rounds of the allotment, the students should carefully choose which college and course they would select to study. The allotments in the second round would be based on the options entered by the students in the first round and option entry will be reopened for only those colleges and courses that would came into the seat matrix after the first round. The seat allotment result of second round would be out on August 9.
