The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (Karnataka TET) or KARTET 2016 has been postponed and will now be conducted on January 8, 2017, CAC Bangalore notified.
Karnataka TET exam was earlier scheduled to be held on December 18, 2016. The new exam date for KARTET 2016 has also been announced by the authority. Now the TET exam would be held on January 8, 2017. The admit cards for all the applicants are expected to be available from December 19.
The online applications for Karnataka TET 2016 were submitted from October 14 to November 9 and the exam was initially scheduled to be held on December 18. The examination authority has postponed the exam, however, no specific reason was cited for the postponement. The exam would now be administered on January 8, 2017. The Karnataka TET admit card will be uploaded three weeks prior to the exam date as the candidates will be able to access their respective admit card at official web portal schooleducation.kar.nic.in.
Karnataka TET will be conducted on a single day in two shifts : Paper 1 from 9.30 am to 12 noon and Paper 2 from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. Paper 1 will be from the applicants who wish to be appointed as a teacher of primary classes (Classes I to V), while Paper 2 is for elementary stage (Classes VI to VIII). Both the papers will consist of 150 objective type questions, each question having 1 mark. The paper will be in English and Kannada.
All the candidates taking Karnataka TET will be issued marks statement, while the candidates scoring 60 percent and above will be issued eligibility certification which will be valid for a period of seven years.
