KCET; Karnataka CET allotment 2016 mock results delayed by 3 days, option entry dates extended and more news.
KEA has extended the deadline for option entry for Karnataka CET by three days and with that stipulation, the mock allotment is possibly delayed too. The uncertainty over CET seat allotment and schedule admission process has prevailed due to row on the medical seats in the state. COMEDK, which used to share 40% of it’s medical seats in undergraduate courses of MBBS & BDS with state government, hasn’t responded well over the fate of around 1400 seats.
The state medical education minister of Karnataka, Sharan Prakash Patil said on the issue, “We are hoping to convince private medical colleges to give government quota seats to the CET pool soon so that the seat matrix can be uploaded.” The last date for option entry was as of 22 June initially but after the extension, candidates will get few more days.
Earlier the minister had also said that, “Seat allotment process will begin only by July 1. So, students and parents need not worry.” Reportedly, the minister had called a meeting with representatives of private colleges yesterday and also said that seat matrix for medical courses will be uploaded very soon.
Aspirants in Karnataka who wrote KCET 2016- Karnataka CET test for admission to trades in engineering and medical branches are also edged about the fee hike by institutions. The minister had also ensured that fee problem will also be taken care of in due time.
Not just that, the entire process of counselling has been a long streak of delays and uncertainties since seat matrix hasn’t been displayed for medical seats in the state, date for verifying documents was also extended, option entry dates are extended and now, KCET seat allotment 2016 is sure to be postponed.
According to the original notification, Karnataka CET mock allotment was to be released today on 23 June, but won’t be getting published now today. It is safe to say mock allotment results will be out after conclusion of option entry process. The real seat allotment- first allotment for admissions will be declared around 29-30 June, being delayed from previously scheduled 26 June.
To blame KEA wouldn’t be right since all this interruption is due to the row on NEET and medical aspirants have had their fare share of suffering amid all this. Currently, KEA portal- kea.kar.nic.in is saying that first round of CET 2016 option entry is extended and schedule will be notified shortly, leaving students clueless of the whole process ahead. However, the extension in option entry is good thing for medical aspirants.
The candidates who haven’t filled-in their options can do so now. After the mock allotment is released, the provision to re-arrange/edit/add options will be provided before the publication of first real allotment.
