Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has notified that 6th combined civil services exam will be conducted on December 18. The admit card to candidates for this 6th JPSC preliminary test (PT) were to be issued on Monday evening as per the notice released earlier from the Commission, the same however, haven’t been issued so far.
Jharkhand Public Service Commission is conducting fresh examination (PT exam) under 6th Combined Civil Services Examination (Advt. No. 23/2016) as it had cancelled the previous exam notified under Advertisement No. 01/2015. Over 1 lakh candidates have applied for the exam as the application process concluded on November 8. As much as 25,189 applications were rejected by the Commission.
As per the notification, all the applicants are required to undergo a preliminary test, which can also be considered as a screening test. The candidates obtaining meritorious marks in the preliminary test (PT exam) will be declared qualified to appear for the final exam.
JPSC 6th PT exam will consist of two papers : General Studies Paper-1 and General Studies Paper-2. G.S. Paper 1 will have 100 objective type questions, each question having 2 marks. The distribution of questions in Paper 1 would be as follows :
- History of India – 15 questions
- Geography of India – 10 questions
- Indian Policy and Governance – 10 questions
- Economic and Sustainable Development – 10 questions
- Science & Technology – 15 questions
- Jharkhand Specific Questions (General Awareness of its History, Society, Culture & Heritage) – 10 questions
- National & International Current Events – 10 questions
- General questions (Miscellaneous) – 15 questions
Similarly, G.S. Paper 2 would also have 100 questions and each would be of 2 marks. The complete distribution of questions in Paper 2 is given here, the basic difference in Paper 1 & 2 is that Paper 2 will test the candidates on their knowledge about the State.
As the posts to be filled through JPSC 6th Civil Services Exam are 326, as much as 4,890 candidates will be shortlisted for the main exam. After the main exam, the finally shortlisted candidates will have to appear for Interview for which around 978 candidates will be invited.
As far as the admit card issue is concerned, the candidates must keep checking the official website as the JPSC is going to upload the admit cards anytime from now. We’ll also update it once JPSC admit card is made available.
