JNU Entrance Exam 2018: Application to start from Friday

Jawaharlal Nehru University will hold Entrance Examination for admission to M.Phil/ Ph.D, M.Phil/ Ph.D through JRF, Ph.D, Ph.D through JRF, M.Tech, MPH, PGDE, M.A, PGDE, M.A., M.Sc., MCA, B.A. (Hons) in Foreign Language and Part time course from December 27-30, 2017 in 53 cities across India and also in Kathmandu, Nepal. The online registration for JNU Entrance Exam 2018 is set to commence from September 15, 2017.

Total seats for admission in JNU for M.Phil./ Ph.D. courses for the academic session 2018-19 are 720. Other 1,118 seats are available in Postgraduate programmes (M.A., M.Sc., M.Tech, M.P.H) and 459 are available in B.A. programmes (Undergraduate). The Part-time programmes (Diploma and Certificate Courses) of the University have 240 seats, a latest update from JNU says.

JNUEE Application Process: The JNU Application form can be filled online on the official website of the University. The applications for JNUEE 2018 can be filled in five simple steps: Registration; Filling the Application Form and Preview; Uploading Photo and Signature; Fee Payment and Final Submission. The last date to fill up the JNU entrance exam application form is October 13, 2017.

For 1st choice, the candidates belonging to General/OBC category are required to pay Rs. 530. Those belonging to SC/ST/PWD are required to pay Rs. 310, while those belonging to BPL category have to pay Rs. 110.

For 2nd choice, the candidates belonging to General/OBC category are required to pay Rs. 800. Those belonging to SC/ST/PWD are required to pay Rs. 415, while those belonging to BPL category have to pay Rs. 215.

For 3rd choice, the candidates belonging to General/OBC category are required to pay Rs. 1000. Those belonging to SC/ST/PWD are required to pay Rs. 500, while those belonging to BPL category have to pay Rs. 300.

Selection Process: The university will display the result of JNU Entrance exam on the official portal. Post result declaration, certain students who have opted for particular courses shall be called for the next process of admission i.e Viva-Voce. It is possible that the candidate will be intimated about the result through medium of email as done last time. Selection shall be based on the basis of the written test.

Selected candidates who have undergone two of the process stated above, separate merit lists will be prepared according to the courses. There will be two merit lists:- one for the candidate who have appeared for the viva-voice and one for those courses for which the viva voice is not prescribed. The same shall be published on the official site at admissions.jnu.ac.in along with the merit list of the candidates who have not undergone viva voice and the merit is for the candidates who have undergone the interview.
