The result of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) 2017 preliminary examination that was conducted on March 19, 2017, has now been declared. The details of JKPSC KAS result 2017 were uploaded on Sunday evening by the Commission at it’s web portal. Candidates may visit www.jkpsc.nic.in to check their KAS results 2017.

In the press note issued here regarding KAS 2017 along with the announcement of results, JKPSC also informed about the further proceedings. A total of 6,925 candidates have qualified the JKPSC KAS 2017 prelims on the basis of their performance in the written test. These 6,925 candidates will now have to appear for the mains examination which is scheduled onward of July 17, 2017.
- A total of 36,681 had actually taken the JKPSC KAS 2017 preliminary test on March 19 at 08 test venues across the state, out of 47,010 who had registered for the same. Test centres at Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Rajouri, Leh and Kargil were also set up for convenience of students from remote areas.
- Meaning that 18.87% had qualified the prelims test, a feat not so common in exams in other states of the country. The number of aspirants shortlisted for KAS mains exam is 25 times the number of vacancies, and there are a total of 277 vacancies, including 269 for Jr. Scale administrative service that were advertised in the notification.
JKPSC had notified the KAS exam in June 2016 for which registrations had commenced from June 22, 2016. The application process ended on August 6th, 2017 after an extension of 15 days in the deadline. The exam itself was initially scheduled for September 25, 2016 but was delayed two times before it was finally, successfully held on March 19, 2017. Up till 2014, the commission had conducted the KAS exams regularly, the same however, was not notified in 2015 and even when it was notified in 2016, the exam took place in 2017.
A total of 277 vacancies, including 269 for Jr. Scale administrative service were advertised in the notification. The KAS prelims test was held on two sessions; first session from 10 am to 12 noon for General Studies paper and for optional paper, timing was 2 pm to 4 pm.
With the declaration of results, JKPSC also revealed KAS prelims cut off 2017 officially. According the notification, the last cut off point came out as 270.477 marks out of the total aggregate 450 marks. The commission has not disclosed the cut offs category-wise.
The mains examination will commence from July 17, 2017 and will be held on several days. The notice of complete schedule of mains exam has not been notified as of yet but will be done soon.
The candidates who have qualified prelims to appear for the mains, would now have to fill a new application form for mains exam. The facility will be made available online through JKPSC website with the dates and details.
The list of roll numbers of candidates who have qualified KAS prelims have been uploaded at www.jkpsc.nic.in in a merit list. Candidates can tally their roll numbers in that PDF and look forward to further proceedings.
