Registrations begin for JIPMER MD/MS Entrance Test

Recently, JIPMER notified admission to 106 seats in M.D. / M.S. (3-year course) for which the applications can be made till 19 October. The registrations for entrance examination can only be made online. Entrance examination has been scheduled for 22 November 2015.

The entrance exam would be taken as online based distributed object system paper (two sections) consisting of 250 questions. Basic Clinical Sciences section would contain 100 questions while Clinical Sciences 150 questions, all the questions would be of objective type nature. Timings of the JIPMER entrance examination has been set as 9 AM to 12 Noon. There will be four alternatives for every question, each correct answer would be awarded 4 marks while 1 mark would be deducted for each wrong answer.

The Institute currently functions under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. JIPMER imparts several Undergraduate, Postgraduate courses including MBBS, B.Sc., M.Sc., M.D., M.S., DM/M.Ch, Ph.D. courses.

The entrance examination would be organized to shortlist meritorious students for admission to 106 seats, in which 10 seats are reserved for sponsored/ Foreign Nationals while rest are of Indian Nationals. 30 major cities across the Country have been shortlisted as the entrance exam venues.

The merit list would be rolled out on 27 November (tentatively) and 1st session of counselling would be conducted on 16 December. The academic session is poised to commence from 1 January 2016. Merit Ranking would be based on percentile method, the minimum percentile for Orthopedic Physically Challenged – UR (OPH) is 45th, for OBC, SC, ST – 40th while for rest of the candidates, it has been set as 50th.
