JIPMER MBBS result 2016 declared on 15 June ahead of schedule

JIPMER MBBS result 2016: The Institute has officially announced the results of MBBS entrance examination earlier today on 15 June even though the notification stated the declaration for 17 June. All in all, it’s great news for aspirants who took the test.

JIPMER released the ranks and merit list of qualified candidates eligible for counselling along with the marks obtained by individuals. The result is published on two parts on the site of jipmer.edu.in online. Candidates can check now.

update 8:37 pm, 13th June 2016: JIPMER has officially released a notification about the result for MBBS entrance. JIPMER MBBS result 2016 stands delayed as of today and will now be declared after 17th June.

JIPMER notified that “Results of JIPMER MBBS Entrance Examination (July 2016) is expected for notification around 17th June 2016.”

The site www.jipmer.edu.in is working fine now and candidates can read the notice put there.

Note: The results are NOT announced as was reported in the morning. Since site wasn’t working, it wasn’t clear whether or not results were out.

updated at 5:30 pm, 13th June: Even though JIPMER had released the results in morning only, but most of the medical aspirants haven’t able to access them since the Institute’s website- jipmer.edu.in has been down around 10 am in the morning. Been trying since hours, candidates are seriously displeased with the situation with many questioning if the results are published at all! The scheduled declaration was of 9 pm tonight but JIPMER went ahead and released it earlier. That hasn’t turned out any good so far.

However, the main question is, if the administration was going to declare results today, why didn’t it prepare for the difficulties which might occur. That leaves a bad mark on rep of the institution and a bad experience for those who are awaiting results. Here’s only hoping that site gets working soon.

Update 12:24 PM, Monday, 13 June 2016: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) has published the result of MBBS 2016 entrance test earlier in the morning today at around 11 AM ahead of its 9 pm release in the evening today. The merit list is available now.

The latest report is that JIPMER’s site jipmer.edu.in isn’t working and is down for more than 2 hours. Therefore, leaving the candidates in disarray as they’re unable to check results even though its out. The University administration is trying to bring up the site live for candidates. Site will be up in few minutes.

JIPMER MBBS 2016 result is getting announced today on 13th June as per official notification published earlier by the University. Once the result is published, the merit list of qualified candidates eligible for counselling will also follow. The official notification also suggests that candidates can expect the declaration of results by 9 pm today.

jipmerJIPMER result is awaited by 1.55 lakh aspirants who wrote the entrance test on 5th June. S. C. Parija, the director of JIPMER had said that a total of 1,55,193 candidates had applied to take JIPMER MBBS 2016 entrance test. The University had to organize the exam at 275 test venues in 75 cities of the country to fit in such large number of candidates. All this competition while there are only 200 seats offered in two of JIPMER’s campuses. Out of 200, 150 seats are up for grab in it’s Puducherry campus and the rest 50 in Karaikal campus where MBBS course was introduced this year only.

The test was taken in single shift between 10 am to 12:30 pm with online based distributed system exam of 150 minutes.

A total of 1.55 lakh applications against 200 seats, that itself clarifies the competition here. That means, the ratio of competition falls around 775 candidates against 1 seat. Amid the row on NEET, JIPMER had decided to go on with it’s medical entrance and didn’t have to spar with the issue since Centre’s ordinance on NEET provided chance for states to hold their own CETs and University’s to their own. The decision was left to the administrative panel of the Universities and states. JIPMER clearly stands among the most prestigious and sought after institutions for medical education, along side likes of AMU, AIIMS, CMC Vellore and few others.

The merit list is prepared taking candidate’s marks in the entrance and also following the reservation rules. Out of 150 seats in Puducherry campus, 50 are for unreserved category students, 28 for OBC, 16 for SC, 11 for ST, 40 for Puducherry residents (breaking up to PUR-23, POBC- 11, P-SC-6) and 5 seats for NRI/OCI candidates under self finance scheme.

In Karaikal campus, out of 50 available seats, 15 are for unreserved category, 10 for OBC, 6 for SC, 4 for ST, 14 for Puducherry residents (PUR- 7, POBC- 5, P-SC- 2) and 1 seat is available for NRI/OCI candidate under self-finance scheme.

After the result is published, final phase of admission will begin. JIPMER will then hold the counselling for exercise of options for both of its campuses on 20, 21 and 22 June and the allocation of seats will be done on the next day.

This academic session will start with commencement of courses from 1st July 2016. The candidates have to complete the admission formalities on 23rd and 24th June and admissions letters will finally be issued on 29th June. The admission in MBBS courses will end on 30th September.

To check results, concerned candidates have to go to the official website of JIPMER and enter their registration number etc details. The marks/score obtained by candidates and status of rank will be disclosed in the scorecard itself. The University would not dispatch any scorecard to candidates and can only be downloaded from official site before the start of counselling.
