JIMPER answer key for MBBS 2016 examination to be released, results declaration on 13th June and cut off discussed for this year’s merit.
JIPMER MBBS 2016 was held yesterday on 5th June at 275 test centres set up in 75 cities across the country. The entrance examination organized by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Puducherry, is being taken to facilitate admission on the 200 seats offered in MBBS program, 150 in Institute’s Puducherry campus and 50 in Karaikal campus. The MBBS course in Karaikal campus has been introduced this year.
JIPMER Director, S. C. Parija said in a press event held last Saturday that the administration received a total of 1,55,193 applications this year who will be provided admission on the basis of merit prepared for the JIPMER MBBS test.

JIPMER has been one of the top destinations for MBBS aspirants along side AIMS, AMU and IPU since the number of test takers is increasing significantly with each passing year.
It’s likely that the answer keys will be released within one or two days from some coaching institutes. However, JIPMER may not publish the answer sheets until the results announcement. The question paper carried a total of 200 questions with 1 maximum mark provided for each correct answer. There’s no provision for negative marking in the test.
200 questions asked in the test consisted of 60 questions from Physics, 60 from Chemistry, 60 from Biology, 10 from English comprehension and 10 from Logic & Quantitative reasoning and a time duration of two and a half hours was given to students.
JIPMER MBBS result 2016 is going to be declared on 13th June which will then commence the final phase of admission process. The counselling will be held on three days i.e., June 20, 21 and 22nd. The academic session is poised to begin on 1st of July.
JIPMER publishes the merit list of selected candidates eligible to attend counselling, taking their rank and the reservation rules in consideration. The cut off varies here for candidate of each category. The cut off marks recorded for general category students was at 161 marks in 2014 with rank cut off at 80. The cut off marks for OBC, SC, ST, NRI/OC have been at 153, 142, 123 and 144 respectively. The cut off set each year largely depends on the number of test takers and the difficulty level of exam. The analysis by experts should be up soon online.
In the result declaration of JIPMER MBBS 2016, candidates will be able to check out their marks and get the score card from official website. Their status on whether they’ve qualified the test or not, will also become known to them. The Institute will release the merit list and rank obtained by students on June 13, 2016.
