The final result of MBBS entrance exam has been declared by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research. More than 85000 students took the entrance test on 7 June and the results along with the provisional merit list were published on 12 June. Students double the number of seats available have been shortlisted for admissions to the MBBS course of Institute.
Jawaharlal institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Puducherry was declared an institution of national importance in the year 2008 thereby increasing the intake for MBBS course from 75 to 150 seats. JIPMER imparts undergraduate (UG), post-graduate (PG) and super specialty medical training through a working hospital (JIPMER Hospital) and a Nursing College.
In addition to MBBS, JIPMER offers world-class education and degree courses B.Sc., M.Sc., M.D., M.S, D.M./ M.Ch. courses, the super specialty departments of cardiology, neurology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, urology, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, neonatology, clinical immunology, clinical pharmacology, clinical hematology, nephrology, medical oncology, endocrinology, surgical oncology and surgical gastroenterology. Full-time Ph.D. programs are available in eight disciplines.
Out of all the available seats, 15% seats come under All India quota and hence will be filled through the merit list of AIPMT, 40 seats are reserved for Puducherry residents. JIPMER has published the list of students who have been shortlisted to appear for the verification process. All the shortlisted students will have to appear for the Biometric verification on the designated dates. Original certificates are to be submitted after the verification.
After the completion of Certificate verification process, provisional admission order would be issued on 29 June as the academic session is set to commence from 1 July onward.
