JEECUP – the Joint Entrance Examination Council of Uttar Pradesh – the body responsible for conducting polytechnic entrance exam, has cancelled the result of the topper along with 28 other examinees in the top list due to mass cheating. All these students had given exam in one single room of Gautam Buddha Inter College located in the Ghazipur district. After investigations, it has been clearly depicted that mass cheating held at the examination centre. Even the SSP of Ghazipur has been sent a letter to lodge an FIR against Superintendent (principal) Paras Singh Kushwaha in Sadar Police Station.
JEECUP is the UP Polytechnic Entrance Exam for admissions in various diploma courses in colleges which are recognised by the Uttar Pradesh Technical Educational Board. JEECUP was conducted on May 1, 2016, in 1,172 centres across the state, while the result was declared on June 10, 2016. The officers of the council suspected the results of top 12 students who were from the same examination centres under ‘A’ Group. When the investigation took place, it was revealed that the answer sheet of 28 candidates was more or less the same. Even the wrong and correct answers were also identical in nature.
Investigation so far…
That is why the result of 28 students was intercepted as being suspicious. To investigate the matter deeply, a four-member team headed by JD Manoj Kumar was formed. Mr. Manoj called these students and the centre head to the council office on June 23, 2016. Out of 28 students, only 7 students and the head of the centre appeared.
At the head office situated in Lucknow, a simple test of these students was taken in which they have been exposed. The namesake toppers were not even able to write the name of the designated centre correctly. Moreover, they were also not able to write the spelling of their roll numbers. In addition, they were not having answers even of the general questions thus asked.
Though the council has confirmed the mass cheating and result of these 28 examinees has been cancelled. In addition to it SSP of Ghazipur has been sent a letter to lodge an FIR against Superintendent (principal) Paras Singh Kushwaha in Sadar Police Station. Yet so far no action has been taken against these bogus toppers. The bogus toppers have been left free after the cancellation of results. Likewise Bihar Board toppers scam, no FIR has been lodged and no arrests have been made.
Gautam Buddha Inter College, Ghazipur will be black-listed
Joint Entrance Examination Council Uttar Pradesh has recommended to black-list Gautam Buddha Inter College, Ghazipur. Despite having individual roll number of all the examinees, they all were seated in one single room, i.e. Room No. 23. Due to this, along with the principal of the college, the responsibility of central authorities and zonal officer is being fixed.
