Exam Report:

Reportedly, CBSE had organised 1,781 centres in 109 cities for smooth holding of JEE main 2017 and nearly 10.2 lakh aspirants have taken the entrance today. That’s a decline of around 2 lakh candidates since last year if the the data of this year’s number is correct. In 2017, the exam also witnessed few major changes. Firstly, the weightage given to the class 12 marks in calculating the JEE main ranks has been removed.

For SC/ST students, the requirement is 65% in 12 class board exams.

The JEE Apex board has also increased the number of candidates who can sit for JEE Advanced, if qualified. A total of 2,20,000 candidates are allowed to sit for Advanced exam after mains and IIT Madras will be conducting it.

Each correct answer will get students 4 marks while each false answer will lead to a deduction of 1 mark as per the provision of negative marking. If you’ve marked no answer, no mark(s) will be deducted.

Paper 2 had 3 parts. 1st part (aptitude test) consisted of 50 objective type questions of 4 marks each. 2nd part was of Mathematics having 30 questions of 4 marks each and the 3rd part was the drawing test, carrying 2 questions of total 70 marks.
